What makes me different from other music teachers?
My approach is tailored to you as an individual.
I provide one-to-one piano lessons for children from beginners to advanced for adult beginners and for adults returning to piano. The lessons are carefully planned to address the particular challenges that each of these different groups face.

I put a lot of effort into making sure that students are playing music that speaks to them; be that Dinosaur-themed tunes or Disney songs. In the week that I am writing this I am working with students on a diverse range of music from Puccini to Les Miserables, from Beethoven to One Direction and from Liszt to Scatman John!

However, if you have no interest in taking exams then that is absolutely fine. Music should bring joy to your life, not be a chore. I have many students who play the piano for fun and others who play the piano for relaxation and to provide a moment of calm in their busy lives.
I will help you to develop effective practice habits and a schedule that fits around your other activities.
The number one thing that will help you to improve is consistent and targeted practice. We plan practice during lessons and everything is written in the practice notebook so it is easy to know what to work on in practice time.
We will regularly review your progress together during lessons. You will be amazed at how far you have come!

I will help you to build the confidence to share your music with others.
We begin this in lessons by playing duets together which is great fun and helps with learning to instill a sense of timing in a very rewarding way. Students also have regular opportunities to perform to each other at the monthly performance group event. Piano events and group classes are all held in the relaxed and friendly environment of the piano studio.

There are musical opportunities for you whatever your age and skill level. I currently have students from age 6 to age 70! It’s never too late to learn and enjoy playing music.
